CSP Pacific

Project Brief

The leading supplier of New Zealand’s civil roading construction and road safety products, CSP has been involved in projects throughout New Zealand and the South Pacific for over four decades. As an organisation, they rent a range of road safety products to third parties. CSP offer the latest and most innovative products in their rental fleet, which led to the company’s interest in the new HV2 Barrier from Saferoads.

Our Solution

Saferoads HV2 Barrier offers clients across New Zealand the opportunity – via CSP Pacific – to hire a barrier that is fast to deploy, with no compromise on safety.

In fact, it is the only barrier world-wide to pass the MASH TL-4 crash test without the need for any anchoring or pinning to the surface of the road. This means that the HV2 Barrier reliably protects road workers, even in speed zones up to 100km per hour. In addition to protecting from the impacts of passenger vehicles, it has also been safely tested to deflect a ten-tonne truck.

The Outcome

The National Hire Manager at CSP Pacific, David Russell, says the HV2 Barrier was chosen over other steel crash barriers on the market thanks to its low deflection and the ability to operate without pinning or anchoring to the surface of the road. "The no pinning is the advantage, and its radius is the best of all the steel barriers,” he said.

As the HV2 Barrier is unanchored, it is far quicker to deploy and retrieve than other options. The innovative connection system that ensures the task can be completed even faster than many other unanchored barriers. This attribute is appreciated by CSP customers, many of whom are in the construction industry.

“A comment from our customer who has been installing barriers for 20 years was that this is the best and quickest barrier he had ever used,” said David Russell.
